Job Description: Special Process Lead
Position summary:
The Special Process Lead will be a key contributor to support the Quality and manufacturing team by undertaking Special Process compliance in relation to Aerospace requirements and to include the development and maintenance of related quality systems. To investigate and implement opportunities in both process and equipment improvements
Special Process Lead will be responsible to the Head of Quality:
* To ensure continual compliance with all customer and NADCAP requirements for Heat Treatment and Vacuum Brazing.
* Manage Internal personnel and External Suppliers to achieve planned timing for NADCAP compliance
* Liaise with external bodies to arrange audits for attaining certification
* Integrate with on-site calibration team and external providers
* Write / amend written procedures for key processes within NADCAP scope
* Implement systematic reviews meetings to attain set objectives and hold regular review meetings
* Audit in-house processes to ensure implemented systems are maintained
* Provide ongoing technical support to specialist processes Training of relevant personnel to meet NADCAP requirements

*Provide timely support including MRB to production for heat treatment and weld related issues.
*Lead and support Internal and external investigations, brazing, welding and mechanical failures
*Develop laboratory capability and achieve accreditation to NADCAP & co-ordinate with external laboratories for failure analysis

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Degree preferred (Materials / Mechanical Engineering) minimum HNC or equivalent.
Experience: Must have an in-depth experience in operational role working in Special Processes compliance preferably NADCAP.
*Knowledge and understanding of IS09001, AS9100 systems
*Knowledge / Experience of NADCAP requirements
*Knowledge of NADCAP checklist AC7102, AC7102-1 (Brazing), AC7102-2 (Aluminium HT), AC7102-5 (hardness), AC7102-8 (pyrometry)
*Previous experience within Aerospace/Defence and understanding of related systems/standards would be an advantage
*Good communication skills
*Highly motivated and able to use own initiative
*Excellent time management skills
*Knowledge of materials and joining desirable but not essential
*Willing to work in both office based and workshop based environments
*Enthusiastic and flexible in performing a wide range of tasks as requested by the line manager

This position may involve access to export controlled information and hardware where an export license would be required for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Employment will be subject to satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and if required, completion of a non-disclosure agreement.
