Collins Aerospace Head up Guidance Systems (HGS) in Wilsonville, Oregon is looking for a co-op/intern for the Summer/Fall term interested in software development to join our team. We develop real-time, embedded, software applications that are used in the flight displays of many commercial aircraft.
This position may involve a wide variety of tasks covering the software development life cycle, including (but not limited to) the following: 1. developing real-time flight critical application software using development tools, 2. performing hardware/software integration in the lab, 3. designing/architecting new solutions to meet the needs of our customers, 4. developing software requirements, 5. developing tests, and 6. performing formal verification to ensure the product meets the needs of our customers.
Developing flight display application software is exciting: you get to see, and touch, what you develop! During development, we run our application software on the real displays in the lab to debug problems and ensure the software meets the requirements of the customer. In addition, you’ll also have the opportunity to run and test the software on your PC while developing at your desk.
The student will be expected to work closely with other software engineers on a daily basis, resulting in an excellent opportunity for the student to build relationships and gain valuable exposure to software development for commercial airborne safety-critical systems.
Collins Aerospace in Wilsonville, OR is the premier designer and manufacturer of world-class head up displays and helmet-mounted displays.
Experience in programming languages C, Python, Perl is highly desired.
Strong software and hardware debugging skills are preferred.
