This position leads multiple teams headed by Business Process Management managers or supervisors, establishing and executing strategic projects to bring value and velocity to supply chain. Recommends and implements new processes and systems in support of supply chain continuous improvement. Partner with divisional senior executive leadership, central Collins teams, key stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts to identify supply chain processes, systems, tools, and metrics which can be standardized / improved.

Discipline Description

  • Custodian of supply chain business processes and sets overall vision for the processes and IT tools.
  • Optimizes efficiency by identifying and implementing supply chain processes, systems, tools and metrics.
  • Manages policy and procedure development and document control, IT tools and Master Data.
  • Monitors and reports business and contract compliance and develops governance/compliance of metrics for processes, policies and procedures.

Organization Level Description

  • Owns the execution of long-term strategy (e.g., more than 3 years) and operational direction, typically for an entire region, country, product or business of considerable size and scope. or, Owns the establishment and execution of short- to medium-term operational plans (e.g., less than 1 year to 1-2 years) for the organization.
  • Problems faced are often complex and require extensive investigation and analysis.
  • Requires ability to influence others to accept practices and approaches, and ability to communicate and influence executive leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Drives supply chain process, system, and / or tools improvements across all UTC divisions.
  • Leads cross discipline teams focusing on strategic projects to bring value and velocity to supply chain.
  •  Partners with key functional executive leadership, process owners, and subject matter experts to identify supply chain process, systems, tools, and metrics, which can be standardized.
  • Leads the establishment of objectives for an execution of mapping and modeling of key supply chain business process flows to optimize efficiency and meet client needs.
  • Leads in the execution of supply chain policies and procedures focused on improving processes and systems.
  • Directs systems enhancements in alignment with supply chain strategy.
  • Ensures that LS supply chain remains in compliance with internal and external SC requirements
  • Optimizes efficiency by identifying and implementing supply chain processes, systems, tools and metrics.
  • Manages policy and procedure development and document control, IT tools and Master Data.
  • Monitors and reports business and contract compliance and develops governance/compliance of metrics for processes, policies and procedures.
  • Custodian of supply chain metrics, supply chain intelligence and reporting 

Basic Requirements:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience.

Experience in Supply chain and business processes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working with for US governmental agencies including FAA, DCMA, DCAA, SBA and other audit agencies.
  • MBA Desired
  • Demonstrated exceptional verbal presentation and training skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to drive detailed project plans through to successful execution
  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with business counterparts
  • People management and team building experience
  • SAP prior experience
  • Advanced Microsoft office skills
  • Knowledge in continuous improvement tools.

Skill sets and key challenges:

  • Highly process oriented.  Previous experience with developing or implementing business processes and systems
  • Disciplined and structured approach to managing activities, supports with data and facts
  • Ability to manage, consolidate and interpret data from multiple different sources - deal with ambiguity
  • High degree of change management and compliance oversight to ensure effective business support in a constantly changing business environment. 
  • Bias for action in a potentially ambiguous environment
