Role Overview
This position is a seasoned IT professional with expertise in business and technical applications who works independently to analyze business system and application needs, determine system capabilities, test and configure systems, analyze system logic, and address functionality issues. Responsible for supporting the deployment of AEGIS MES solution and its integration with SAP by providing subject matter expertise with this and any future manufacturing execution solution. Responsible for all aspects of MES project implementation at the PRE Smart Line working under the guidance of the Digital Operations team. Ensure the realization of the MES’s business benefits by working closely with the operations and engineering teams by implementing a manufacturing execution system that performs the expected machine integrations, quality management, traceability, visibility improvements and real-time management of the operation. Lead the integration between Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and other systems. Define the functional requirement for MES solution and interfaces. Design and perform detailed test the MES solution that will be implemented. Act as liaison between the internal project team, internal management, external teams, central DT and other project teams to ensure successful project execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in implementing MES systems in an electronic manufacturing environment
  • Systems optimization experience with plant floor/Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions
  • IT experience supporting an electronic manufacturing operation
  • Extensive experience implementing, customizing and upgrading MES systems including the integration of systems such as MES, ERP, labor collection, documentation repositories and other operation support systems
  • Provide System Administration for current and new manufacturing execution systems
  • Provide input into front end graphical user interface design to optimize the user experience
  • Provide software engineering support and remain current in the latest technologies and systems
  • Generate and execute test scripts in UAT (User Acceptance Testing)
  • Knowledge of Aegis and other MES software solutions
  • Experienced in working with customers to create user requirements and technical documentation
  • MSWord, Excel and Power Point proficient to develop and draft User Requirement, Functional Specifications and Detailed Design Specifications
  • OEE implementation experience is a plus
  • Knowledgeable of smart factory and industry 4.0 concepts and implementation strategies
  • ERP or other 3rd party systems integration a plus
  • Knowledgeable in software lifecycle management, version and release management
  • Reports on project progress, offers viable solutions and opportunities as they arise
  • Lead meetings and set expectations for project team, status and implementation strategies
  • Support project management, maintain budgets, timelines and deliverables
  • Reporting on projects and portfolios
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scrum Master (preferred)

Other Responsibilities:

  • • Identifies and analyzes the routine to moderately complex requirements of a business unit or department that can be fulfilled through the use of information technology systems.
  • • Analyzes current business and technical processes for an assigned area to determine where system updates or new systems are needed.
  • • Coordinates with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as program functions, output requirements, input data acquisition, execution of users acceptance
  • •  May assist with system testing and establish system techniques and controls.
  • • Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
  • • Analyzes existing system logic to assess alignment with business unit or department need.
  • • Collaborates with application development teams to analyze system functionality issues.
  • • Works to select, implement, develop, maintain and support business systems and digital applications through understanding business processes and their implications and applying process improvement concepts for simplification and productivity to support business goals and objectives.
  • • Manages external vendors.
  • • Aligns digital services, service levels, technology, vendor/supplier management, and initiatives with business strategies and needs.
  • • Represents the business in enterprise/corporate initiatives.
  • • Acts as a business contact and advocates for delivery of high quality digital services.
  • • Works with Security/Compliance, Infrastructure, and Project Management Groups to manage and document the digital technology portfolio.
  • • Responsible for alignment of business systems technology selection, programming, configuring and testing of both new applications and legacy systems, which requires knowledge of systems architecture, development processes for improved design, as well as understanding of systems integration for applications.
  • • Sample roles include Applications Systems Analysis and Programming for business systems such as ERP/PLM/MES/CRM, Systems Architect, Business Application or Relationship Manager.

Basic Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience.  In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
