Det-Tronics is a $150M UTC brand that is technologically innovative with project-based global P&L protecting customers in many challenging environments with high end flame and gas detection products and systems. Det-Tronics is a part of the Global Fire Products business and has a global footprint with manufacturing sites in the U.S. and sales presence in all key geographies.

We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager who will develop, maintain and grow product and systems sales by demonstrating new product value to all Det-Tronics clients. You will work through channel partners and directly with customers to meet and exceed company sales goals established by the team. You will drive the strategy of product upgrade sales for existing customers and develop a process for future growth.


Highlights of job duties include:

Individual responsibilities

  • Identify market opportunities to further sell products to establish customers
  • Sell entire range of products, systems, and services
  • Generate customer proposals
  • Provide product demonstrations and show value to upgrading systems
  • Monitor current performance against sales plans (including sales representatives, distributors and factory-direct accounts)
  • Fully execute and document product upgrade strategies for customers
  • Provide regular updates in the corporate CRM software package
  • Meet sales objectives for assigned regions and sales channels
  • Manage complex project leads from discovery to finalizing the sale
  • Maintain and document all activity related to this role
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the team and leadership
Sales Region/Channel Management
  • Manage assigned sales channels (including new product sales and upgrading of products)
  • Coach sales channels and participate in sales channel partners calls
  • Provide sales support directly to customers
  • Attend trade shows, exhibits, and sales meetings in assigned region as needed
  • Understand competitive market information and share it with the leadership

  • 3+ years of sales experience working in various sales channels and/or directly with customers
  • Ability to sell technical products and demonstrate value add to customers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment while meeting goals and sales quotas
  • Strong organization and time management
  • Adaptable in order to meet customer and business needs
  • Collaborative and able to build relationships
  • Documentation and process oriented
  • Understanding of basic domestic compliance and antitrust laws
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Overnight domestic travel may be required
  • Experience with industrial process control instrumentation or has a technical background is preferred
  • Knowledge of or JD Edwards a plus

  • High School Diploma/ GED with 10+ years of equivalent experience
  • B.A. or B.S. with 3+ years of sales experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred
