Primary Responsibilities:

At EPP/Collins Aerospace our ACE operating system is what makes us a leader in OEM/MRO manufacturing.

As Ace Associate, you will be crucial to the implementation and execution of the ACE operating system.

You will get to work with ALL employees from shop floor to senior leadership, as well as high visibility and impact with potential for advancement and future growth.

The ACE Associate will support the Resource Team in the implementation of ACE and continuous improvement activities to ensure the achievement of EPP goals and objectives. 

ACE and continuous improvement activities will include but are not be limited to

  • Cycle time reduction
  • Quality improvement
  • inventory reduction
  • Part and process flow improvement
  • Better floor space utilization through 5S; and
  • Total cost reduction through the application of ACE / CI tools and techniques.

In this role, under the direction of the ACE / CI Manager and Guidance Management Team (GMT), you will lead, coordinate, and facilitate accelerated process improvement consistent with EPP business goals and objectives as delineated in the ACE/CI macro plan.

With the ACE / CI Manager, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of ACE / CI strategies supporting aggressive business goals.  Having a broad understanding of the manufacturing process, the ACE Associate will be successful by:

  • Understanding and using ACE / CI principles and tools
  • Plan/lead/co-lead lean events and activities
  • Providing ACE / CI training and teaching (OJT)
  • Removing barriers for the implementation of ACE / CI culture
  • Monitoring progress of ACE / CI implementation in the manufacturing work cells
  • Performing necessary follow-up actions to close out “to-do” actions after Kaizen Events    

The ACE Associate is also expected to be competent in process analysis and problem solving including process flow analysis, designing and implementing visual controls for visual management, mistake proofing analysis.

Qualifications:

Education / Certification:

Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of continuous improvement experience,

  • OR
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent with 7 or more years of continuous improvement experience

Basic Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, particularly verbal skills in group settings where there may be resistance to change
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to lead, facilitate and motivate teams
  • Bias for action and sense of urgency to obtain results
  • Customer and continuous improvement focus
  • Previous lean, 6 Sigma, Toyota Production System, Danaher Business System or similar operating system rooted in a culture of continuous improvement and lean principles.
  • Lean skills and the ability to learn and apply new concepts and keep current with state of the art techniques.
  • Experience in manufacturing and non-manufacturing process improvement.
