We have an excellent opportunity for a direct material planning professional in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing operation.  Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.  The position reports to the local materials manager.


-Monitor forecasts to ensure the appropriate balance between material availability, inventory and cost management.

-Work with material planning systems and ad hoc tools to generate daily and weekly material releases to support daily production needs.

-Coordinate with Suppliers, Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, Scheduling and Production to resolve supply chain issues including expediting when necessary.

-Reconcile variances between material releases, shipments, and packing slips.

-Manage phase in/phase out of new/obsolete parts.

-Make necessary system changes to facilitate engineering change notices.

-Monitoring supplier performance and maintain data

-Facilitate disputes between suppliers and the company, identify cost savings opportunities

-Discuss defective or unacceptable goods/services/paperwork with appropriate parties and participate in developing corrective actions

-Maintain appropriate planning-related records, including vendor information, receiving documentation, and other pertinent information as assigned

-Create and maintain departmental reports as required

-Partner with manufacturing, engineering and other functions in support of achieving departmental goals

-Use ACE tools to track and improve processes within area of responsibility


• AA/AS degree w/5–10+ years experience

• BA/BS degree w/2–5+ years experience

• MA/MS degree w/0–2+ years experience


-Planning /direct material experience in a high volume manufacturing setting

-Adaptable to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy within a diverse organization

-Strong verbal and written communication skills with a history of influencing multiple levels of the organization

-Ability to make logical and accurate decisions using the best available information.

-Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs

-Detail-oriented and well organized

-Excellent skills in word processing, spreadsheet use and development, and integrated data base systems
