Role Overview

Otis is seeking a highly motivated individual for the role of Associate Director of Intelligent Automation Robotics Process Automation (RPA) Solutions within the Digital Technology organization. The role with partner closely with Automation Leads and process analysts in various functions, such as Finance, Human Resources and Digital/IT (as well as vendor partners and bot developers) to implement an automations application architecture and governance model that spans functions and business units. The successful candidate will develop global processes to sustain flexibility as the business needs change, with responsibilities subject to change based upon alignment of processes within the organization. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Review technical architecture of new process automations, and identify opportunities for industrialization of objects for reuse in future processes
  • Partner closely with functional process analysts across multiple functions (Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Digital IT and the business units) to create a tightly integrated team structure and engagement model that facilitates speed-to-market on process mapping and automation
  • Work with functional Automations leads to standardize the assessment of business processes in the Automations pipeline for value and automation readiness and feasibility
  • Collaborate with the Digital Security/Compliance organization to define security standards for the robots, including assessment against IT security policy requirements
  • Effectively communicate technical issues and resolve problems at all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
  • Provide technical thought leadership to help create a technology roadmap for RPA and associated technology based on opportunities
  • Oversee the various environments (e.g., production and Quality Assurance) and ensure key configuration and security elements are maintained
  • Implement monitoring across the overall system health, bot utilization, failures and other areas
  • Implement processes and systemic solutions that proactively resolve issues before user, integration or data impact is realized
  • Perform application troubleshooting and user-issue resolution as needed for escalations
  • Build and maintain sandbox environments to facilitate a release schedule, while always maintaining system integrity


  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems (MIS) or related business discipline(s)
  • Master’s degree in one of these disciplines preferred

Basic Qualifications

  • Ten-plus years of related Computer Science experience
  • Prior experience with RPA implementation, with a demonstrated background in RPA & automation technical design, development and governance and experience supporting large, multi-national corporations
  • Proven experience with RPA development methodologies and key integration technologies in an enterprise setting
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and expertise, with evidence of establishing a new application and development framework across multiple functions and business units in a large corporation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, and the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner
  • Ability to effectively evaluated information to make decisions, anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve

Preferred Qualifications

  • BPMS & OCR/ML implementation experience preferred
  • SAP/JD Edwards/ERP experience preferred
  • Cloud experience preferred
