United Technologies Research Center (UTRC) is seeking a Financial Planning Specialist to join its Finance team in providing financial analysis and support to a select group of UTRC Program Offices, Departments and CTO organizations. This role is a well-rounded position that requires interaction with almost every aspect of the organization such as Engineering, Director’s Office, Business Development, and Internal Finance. The role also interacts with financial departments at the other UTC business units.
- Financial management of engineering projects within program offices, as applicable, with specific responsibilities to include:
Support the annual and monthly UTRC planning and budgeting processes Create monthly cost reports Support teams in tracking and reporting Earned Value Management System (EVMS) data Provide financial guidance to project leaders using various analysis of spend rates and project plans; and proactively raise issues for corrective action Provide program financial input to the Monthly Operating Review Present project financial performance to UTRC Senior Leadership quarterly Review invoices for accuracy prior to them being submitted for payment for work performed on U.S. Government contracts Complete Government financial reports as required by external U.S. Government contracts
- Serve as the EH&S Ergonomic Auditor for Finance, ensuring that annual Ergonomic Risk Assessments are completed timely for each team member.
- Identification, participation and support of continuous improvement activities and projects within the department; support UTRC in its pursuit to achieve ACE Gold
- Participation in government and internal audits as required, including assisting management in developing corrective actions
- Ad hoc and special projects
The preferred candidate will possess the following:
·Works well in a team environment
·A good communicator (written and oral)
·Strong analytical skills
·Able to manage multiple tasks
·Perform well under time constraints.
·BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Management. MBA a plus.
·4-7 years of experience in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
·Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience preferred
·Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
·Knowledge of SAP a strong plus
