UTRCI seeks candidates with expertise in formal reasoning and cyber-physical systems (CPS) analysis to join their Systems Analysis & Assurance group in Cork, Ireland. Key challenges will be to develop and deliver creative, integrated and scalable solutions toward system validation and verification through formal reasoning and analysis techniques, model-based system engineering and/or cyber physical systems analysis, working as part of a multidisciplinary team in developing new technologies that will provide a competitive advantage for UTC's business units by:
Developing model-based design and software-based tool solutions to support formal verification, analysis and testing of cyber-physical systems
Implementing industry best practices and addressing gaps in state of the art in formal reasoning and CPS analysis techniques
The successful candidate will:
Contribute to an established research agenda related to UTC's aerospace and building & industrial systems technologies.
Coordinate and execute R&D activities within international cyber-physical analysis and formal methods research projects.
Provide competitive advantage for UTC business units as part of a multidisciplinary and international team of experts.
Contribute towards technical strategy and business development.
A PhD in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, with a few years of industrial or postdoctoral academic experience, or a master's degree with a vast experience of industry or academia.
The ideal candidate will have excellent experience in several of the following areas:
Research and development activities in the area of formal reasoning and CPS analysis domain including background in Formal Methods, Co-simulation and/or Cyber-physical systems Analysis
Expert in modeling, simulation and verification of discrete and/or continuous models in formal methods and model based design tools
Verification, validation and testing of system functional safety and/or security requirements within the context of aerospace domain
Experience in applying formal reasoning and analysis techniques over software or hardware components and/or at system level architecture
Technical contributions, including publications in refereed technical journals and major conferences, and successful proposals for external funding/contracts/grants.
Innovative strategic and technical thinking applied to real-world problems.
