Have you considered what it may be like to work at Pratt & Whitney? We have an opportunity for a 2nd Shift Forge Supervisor at our Columbus, Ga location.

The principle duty of this position is to provide supervision, leadership and support to the business, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

This will require the incumbent to continually search for opportunities to enhance the production processes and the product using a variety of problem solving techniques, effective interpersonal and communication skills, along with technical competency. Incumbent will motivate, coach, and encourage employees to optimize career development and personal happiness.

Team Leader will promote excellent employee relations and empowerment of all business unit personnel. Additional responsibilities are as follows:

Duties:

  • You will meet business metrics goals as defined for each cell (Cost, Quality, Delivery, EHS, ACE, Employee Fulfillment)
  • Implement root cause corrective actions in a timely manner to ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Implement ACE and Lean Strategies to improve Quality, reduce process time and reduce operational costs
  • You will ensure that all employees adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety procedures Ensure that all assigned employees have current development plans and performance reviews
  • Coach employees in team development and motivational strategies
  • Demonstrate dedication to the EH&S program by complying with all policies and procedures, completing all required training, and supporting all applicable committee activities
  • Will manage all aspects of assigned hourly workforce: time & attendance, time off, rewards, discipline process, training, communications, etc
  • Meet the schedule, plan and execute contingency plans
  • Define and Implement plans to support the objectives of the business including Quality, ACE, Employee Fulfillment, and Financial Metrics
  • Administer policies and procedures to ensure compliance and equitable treatment for all employees
  • Ensure all assigned personnel adhere to all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
  • Conduct performance and skill review processes for assigned employees
  • Identify and resolve process improvement opportunities to improve quality, decrease process cycle time and reduce operational costs
  • Use manufacturing innovations to improve cost, delivery, and quality of aerospace air foils

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. OR
  • No Degree and a minimum of 10 years in a leadership role in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5 years supervisor experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to government contracts

Preferred qualifications:

  • 3 years management experiences a plus in Logistics, Materials, Financial exposure preferred
  • Proficient PC Skills, including word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software preferred. (Specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Outlook)

  • Creative troubleshooting skills
  • Possess extraordinary people, team building and interpersonal skills.
