Collins Aerospace Avionics Concepts, Practices, and Tools (CPT) organization is seeking an electrical hardware design system and tools administrator. The ideal candidate is one who is familiar with the hardware design and development lifecycle and who has a passion for problem solving and satisfying stakeholder needs. This role is part of a team who serve internal customers through the delivery of improvements to the global engineering design ecosystem and helps provide compelling gains to the consistency, efficiency, and productivity of product development efforts at Collins Aerospace.
The successful candidate will have many of the following skills/experience:
Knowledge of electronics supply chain, evaluation of components / component assembly, and awareness of board design / materials
Experience or be familiar with the following: System and Software Architecture; Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA); Model-Based System Design (MBSD); Agile System Development Lifecycle; MATLAB, Jira or equivalent tools; working on a mid-size to large program with a significant set of requirements; Control Account Management (CAM); Earned Value Management (EVM); Proposal Development
Advanced ECAD tool user, including products from Zuken and Mentor or equivalent
Experience with root cause analysis of issues
Demonstrated critical thinking and execution of good judgement
Positive attitude and eager to learn and improve
Works well with others in a highly collaborative environment
Good organizational skills
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and support activities while balancing priorities and schedules
Supports tools utilized by hardware engineering (electrical and/or mechanical engineering)
Supports and develop solutions that improve productivity and effectivity of electrical and/or mechanical engineers
Supports services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews
Assists in implementing releases, upgrades, and/or changes into the environment.
Maintains services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
Monitors and respond to tool usage trends
Ensures platform performance and availability meet enterprise objectives through monitoring, timely service restoration, and tuning with minimal supervision or assistance.
Creates and maintains best practices, methods, training guides, and standard company processes
Interfaces with vendor application engineers to resolve issues
Assists with defining and maintaining tool roadmaps
Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or six years of related experience
Advanced ECAD tool user
Experience with software application support
US Citizen/permanent resident
