This position works within the Collins Aerospace Avionics Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Finance
Project organization. The Sr Software Developer is responsible for design, development, and
maintenance of new and existing reporting solutions within FP&A. This position works as part of a team,
which includes the department‘s Business Process Analysts, to understand customer requirements and
data sources to create technical and process solutions for internal customers. The team is focused on
the development and delivery of solutions that create efficiencies within the FP&A and PP&C analyst
- This position will be responsible for:
- Defining, developing, testing, and implementing tool solutions from simple to complex
- Performing business analysis of systems and follow through the full development life cycle
- Coordinating, implementing, and communicating system change requirements
- Translating business needs into technical requirements
- Investigating and understanding new technologies
- Supporting solutions by troubleshooting and completing root cause analysis of data issues
Bachelors degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience.
Successful candidate will have the following skills:
- Strong interpersonal and team work
- Project management
- Strong organizational and time management
- Communication both oral and written including application documentation
- Ability to research and analyze existing systems
- Capability to solve problems with little to no assistance
- Must have proven proficiency in the following technical skills:
- SQL Development including complex joins, queries including CTEs, and stored procedures (MS
- Web Development experience : ASP.NET (Webforms/MVC), Client Side Frameworks (Angular/JQuery/Telerik/Kendo), C#.NET and Visual Studio
Additional desirable technical skills are:
- Microsoft SQL & IIS Server Administration Experience
- VBA and MS Office Automation experience
- Source Control in a team environment
- LINQ or Entity Frameworks
Understanding of key financial reporting systems, Hyperion (HP/HFM), SAP, and BW would be beneficial,
along with demonstrated experience of applying LEAN principles to determine root cause and problem
solving. Knowledge of Rockwell Collins business processes would be ideal.
