We are currently seeking an Engineering Project Assistant to join the team within the Burgess Hill, West Sussex offices.

The Burgess Hill location provides Simulation and Training Solutions for both military and commercial operators. Our total training solutions span the entire training life cycle - from instructional systems design to fully integrated, high-fidelity simulators. Products include a full range of sophisticated visual simulation software, image generators, databases, synthetic environments, display systems and full flight simulator building blocks, designed to meet training requirements for commercial airline and military pilots.

Overall Purpose:

Working independently, this position is responsible for assisting engineers with administrative, documentation, process and general support activities for engineering projects Must possess ability to coordinate and lead activities as well as strong organisation and analytical skills.

Key Accountabilities:

The successful applicant will need to support several engineers, providing a wide variety of administrative and computer skills to assist engineering projects.   Assignments typically include:

Support of internal/external meetings, including scheduling of, minute taking and action tracking

Creating/maintaining program and engineering department artefacts, including project schedules, design plans and reports, action trackers

Creating/maintaining program and engineering department metrics, including risk & opportunities, staffing, project performance

Support the document and software release process into the data management repository.

miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Engineering Associate Director

An ability to manage their time effectively be self-directed (where appropriate), prioritising tasks against sometimes challenging time frames.

Communication – Have good verbal and written skills with the ability to write accurate technical documents, with support from subject matter experts.

Team work – Takes personal initiative and responsibility to proactively foster teamwork creating strong morale, always acting with the best interests of the company in mind.

Process – Understand and utilise the internal processes and tools

Quality – Ensure the quality of work produced meets or exceeds the requirement

Time Management - Must be able to manage own time, able to prioritise own work, working with minimal supervision.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Qualification/Experience or Skill

Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Project - Essential

Conscious attention to detail - Essential
