The Purpose of Your Role
Lead the Developer Experience function for our API Services team, working closely with architects, digital technology service owners, business leaders and product managers to ensure we architect for today, to redefine the future and to bridge from today to that future.
Create and Articulate future state architecture via a Narrative document, complemented by a detailed Strategy, which contains all of the relevant Architecture & Design artifacts enabling the business strategy delivering value our customers will recognize. Additionally, it is expected that the proposed Future State Architecture would be validated via proofs-of-concepts / MVP’s.
Manage and Collaborate with all other team members and peers in security and technical architecture, with respect to the refinement & evolution of the Developer Portal Solutions Architecture Processes & Practices
The Expertise We’re Looking For
7+ years’ architecture and development experience including the following:
Proven track record of designing and developing API Developer Portal(s)
Desire/ability to learn and implement new technologies
Experience with Agile development methodology
Background with multiple enterprise technologies
Experience in all aspects of Architecture Design (People, processes & technology)
Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages
Show an understanding and consistent record for cloud based solutions, continuous integration/deployment
Exposure in Cloud-based (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) Architecture
Expertise with front-end UI technologies
Heightened awareness, experience or passion in continued process improvement

The Value You Deliver
Delivery of business outcomes
Drive design and delivery of the Collins Aerospace Developer Portal
Partnering with product management, develop prototypes and spearhead solutions in MVP, iterative approach
Work with multiple squads using Agile/Scrum methodologies
Provide technical expertise as requested by members of various scrum teams
Act as the Technical Lead for the Developer Portal
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 10 years of relevant experience
- Or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 7 years of relevant experience.
- In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
