Lead and coordinate the design and implementation of accounting and analytical tools, financial budgeting, and reporting systems. Coordinate the overall Propulsion Value Stream budgeting and forecasting processes. Financially support and coordinate the Propulsion Value Stream Strategic Plan. Manage higher level ad hoc financial analyses. Possess or develop Senior Level skills in: General Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Budgeting, Cost Management, and ad hoc Special Analysis

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the design, documentation, and implementation of budgeting and cost analysis systems for periodic and ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
  • Support Value Stream Policy Deployment goals and assist Controller with development of departmental goals and action plans required to support the Value Stream Policy Deployment Requirements.
  • Perform annual review of Sarbanes Oxley documentation. Update documentation and procedures as required.
  • Coordinate and directly manage the Value Stream Budgeting and Forecasting processes.
  • Responsible for completing assigned month end journal entries along with associated reconciliations and reports.
  • Assist with revenue recognition compliance, analysis and reporting.
  • Support inventory and cost systems with the ability to analyze, interpret and troubleshoot data integrity and provide solutions for resolve to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support Controller (when and as directed) by providing guidance and direction to Junior Accounting and Financial personnel.
  • Coordinate and self-manage significant Financial/Accounting special projects
  • Support external auditors, IAD and Government audits as needed.
  • Be proactive in supporting the operating groups with timely and accurate information that enables them to make logical financial decisions.


Education and Certifications:

  • Candidates for this role should possess a Bachelor’s degree within Accounting or Finance and 7 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced degree within Accounting or Finance and 5 years of prior relevant experience.

Qualifications:

  • Program Cost or related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Highly motivated individual with ability to problem solve, make decisions and complete assigned tasks and duties on time. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects to schedule.   
  • Strong people skills and developing Management Skills. Ability to work well in a team environment and lead projects through personal initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbally) with both internal and external parties.
  • Strong systems and PC skills:  SAP & HFM (Hyperion) experience required, 4+ years
  • Sarbanes-Oxley experience and understanding, preferred
